I need to get out of the quilombo more often … here’s yet another film I missed: Faubourg Treme – The Untold Story of Black New Orleans. If you’re a die-hard “Treme” fan like me, this documentary puts it all in historical context.

Along those same lines, check out Ned Sublette’s fascinating history of the Crescent City: The World That Made New Orleans.
