The collective mass murder of African Americans in this nation’s history is part of the legacy of slavery and a product of the American Apartheid system that followed in the wake of emancipation. According to information gleaned from the archives of the Tuskegee Institute, 3,446 African Americans were lynched between 1882-1968.
