Mothership Connection

Fellow fugitives and refugees, the recent announcement that the infamous Parliament/Funkadelic Mothership is heading for the permanent collections of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture is an omen more portentous to me than the so-called end of the world predicted to result from the planetary alignment in 2012. My world already has come to a screeching halt because a symbol of my generation will soon be viewed as a “museum object” … a bloody fossil.

I guess the only saving grace is the fact it, and the music and culture it signifies, has become immortalized and preserved for future generations of Funkateers. May you always be funky …

Chris Richards runs the voodoo down in this WaPo article.
